Great tips. Lawrence Hecker also brings up a great practice to acknowledge success of connecting virtually.  The humor (and pride) associated with connecting in a different way for older patients (and myself) helps ease any awkwardness, creates a 'we're in this together' feel; which may also be helpful to explicitly state.
